Voice Care Tips #2 and #3
Take care of your voice and it will take care of you. A pleasant sounding voice makes a great first impression. So here are two more tips for taking very good care of your speaking voice.
Tip #2: Don't compete. Parties, ballgames, dances, and some restaurants, are good places to find yourself competing with other noise in order to have a conversation. An abused voice can make your whole body feel abused. This is one reason you may feel so very exhausted when you come home from a loud party.
If you're young, you may think your voice will last forever so you turn up the sound. Don't. Your voice will thank you.
Tip #3: Don't scream. If you scream till you're hoarse, the scars remain. The body is an amazing thing and, when you're young, it heals quickly so you may feel like you will last forever. Usually, when screaming needs to be done, I discover there are plenty of people eager to do it so no one misses my scream. You can even make all the motions and still save your voice!
