Strength and Vitality through Listening
There are so many factors that influence my strength and vitality levels. It really gets confusing sometimes, especially when there are so many voices willing to diagnose and prescribe for me.
I propose that anything that helps me to hear my own body is helpful to me and anything that confuses my hearing is not helpful. I have two observations of what is helpful and what is not helpful.
First, much of what any other people tell me is a reflection of their own body messages, not mine. If their voices come to me in the form of “shoulds” and “have tos” then I can’t hear my own body quite so well. Their well-intentioned advice is not helpful. So I gather around me people who can help me listen to my own messages as the most authentic word for me.
Second, mixtures, compounds, extracts, and derivatives confuse my body messages so I can’t hear them as well. I want simplicity in food, food supplements, exercise, cleaning supplies, and clothing so I can profitably ask myself and hear the answer to the question, Do I feel strong or weak in the presence of this item? Simplicity is helpful. So I avoid purchasing and bringing into my home the many complex mixtures available.
Thus listening to myself is the lost link for strength and vitality in body and mind.
