Wayne, Stress Story
Wayne claims the only thing that will reduce his stress is to bring back the fair and honest supervisor who last week accepted a promotion out of his department. So Wayne complains about the change and sandbags the rest of his life in order not to be confronted with any more changes. He begins to drive his wife and friends crazy with insistence on sameness—in food, in schedule, in morning greetings.
While Wayne more and more fortifies his life against change, he fails to see that he himself is changing and foisting perhaps unwanted change on those around him. They’d like to bring back the father, husband, friend who somehow left them.
The ways you deal with change and loss can kill you, too.
